What’s in my name?

What is the story behind your given name?

I already know the meaning of my name. ‘Indu’ means Moon, or Bright Drop. And ‘Prakash’ means Light. So I”m MoonLight!! 😉

I Googled if I an find anything about the origin of this name.  But there was nothing except its meaning. A Bit disappointed.

I should tell you that I hate my name. Its a very old name. I hate that’s its a short name. I wanted a long name, so I could have a lot of nick names!  And I hate it when I hear my name on TV! [Lot of HATE in this post! ]

On the Bright side, It does have a great meaning 😉

Aah well, that’s all I know about my name.

  1. That’s nice. Nirmala means pure in Sinhala. My father’s name is Sunimal. Sunimala also means pure! 😀 And my middle name is Geethani, that’s my mother’s middle name too! 😀 Anyhow my name is also old, just like yours! And that’s all I know about my name! 😀

    • Pure 😉 Nirmalam means pure in Malayalam too. Atleast you can have a nick name by shortening it, like Nimmi! Is that what your friends call you? 🙂

  2. So many of us hate our given names. I think it is a First Nation–Native Americans who send youth on a vision quest to find their name. I have changed my preferred name off and on all my life. What do you wish your name was?

    Thank you for sharing.

  3. There was a time when I hated my name so much that I introduced myself with my nickname (Ria). But now somehow I’ve really grown to love it 😛
    Moonlight – truly beautiful 🙂

      • Yeah heard of it…I remember a friend telling me about it all the time
But then I never watch TV that much 😛 And never serials. Ever.
